We’ve been telling you about Samba Montclair since December 2011, when owner, Ilson Goncalves, transformed Park St. Cafe into an antique chic, home-style Brazilian restaurant. Since that time, Samba has garnered quite a bit of press, including a visit from Eyewitness News Neighborhood Eats.  Now, Ilson can add The New York Times to his laundry list of media attention.

The NYT paid a visit to Samba Montclair, and confirmed all the things we love about Ilson and Samba!   Scott Veale writes, “The kitchen is small, and the cooking that comes out of it is guileless, in the best sense: straightforward, hearty, built for comfort.”
